Al-BaladNow and then when you’re travelling you come across something so authentic that it takes your breath away. It may be an untouched area in nature, or a work of art, or a place that took centuries to evolve and served a purpose. That was the case for Sue when she visited Al-Balad, the old town district of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
 
Sichuan feastNext week: The Chinese province of Sichuan takes its distinctive style of cooking very seriously ­— so much so that it has set up a museum devoted to the subject.

ToonAfaranwide got a namecheck this week on the Daily Drone website. This site is run by Alastair McIntyre, a former colleague on the Daily Express, a national daily newspaper in the UK. We’d sent along a couple of cartoons about the Apollo 11 Moon landing by the great Express cartoonist Michael Cummings that were in Colin’s boyhood space scrapbooks.
