Dear , thanks for your interest in Afaranwide.

Nîmes GamesThis week we published a post about the spectacular Great Roman Games in Nîmes, France – a large-scale re-enactment staged at the city's 2,000-year-old amphitheatre. Hundreds of people in amazingly detailed costumes play the roles of gladiators, charioteers, centurions, emperors, generals and more. Check out the video, too.

Buggy/Ferrari
Our other new post was about Discovery Bay in Hong Kong where, because private cars are banned, the price of a golf buggy to get around in has soared to an amazing US$250,000 – more than a Ferrari!

Sue and Colin at Genting eventSue and Colin represented Afaranwide at an event marking the 25th anniversary of Asia's Genting Cruise Lines. The event was held aboard the World Dream ship Kai Tak cruise terminal in Hong Kong.

Genting's next-gen cabinWe were given a preview of the high-tech cruise accommodation of the future, a “show cabin” built in a box and sent over from Germany, where Genting’s next ship is being constructed. There will be Bluetooth locks, and passengers will control lighting and climate control through a smartphone voice-recognition app or with a touch-screen panel.

Joshua Tree National ParkNext week we visit Joshua Tree National Park in California, and recall the tragic story of country-rock legend Gram Parsons.
